  CLUTCH  AND  FLYWHEEL

  • If the clutch engages and disengages close to the floor, or the transmission ‘grinds’ when you change gear, your clutch may need attention

  • If the clutch pedal moves easily, but the transmission will not go into gear, you should get it checked out

  • If the clutch slips and does not fully engage, the linkage could be out of alignment, or the clutch disc could be so worn that it needs to be replaced

  • Clutch ‘chatter’ is often caused by an overheated clutch which can happen if you ‘slip’ the clutch when starting on an incline or from oil on the clutch disc

  • If, when you rev your vehicle’s engine, its speed is slow to increase

  • If your clutch pedal is fading and feels unusual in any way when you operate it, again the vehicle should be checked out.

  • Secondary damage - caused by the injuring object

  • Ageing/deterioration of tyre rubber

  • Bead damage

  • Exposed cords

 WELDING SERVICES

  • Sometimes an MOT or service will reveal more serious problems with the body of your vehicle. Welding is sometimes required to fuse pieces of metal back together again. This is not always after a big crash as you would expect; often wear and tear over time can weaken metal. Harsh, cold winter weather can also take its toll on the underside of your vehicle and welding is more common than you might think. Additionally areas of rust can build up unseen, leading to weakened and insecure panelling. The inner wheel arch is a common trouble spot for this, due to the rain and surface water it faces on a regular basis. If your vehicle has been in a crash it may have several abrasions in different areas.
